Box breathing (4-4-4-4) is one of the simplest and most reliable nervous-system resets in modern wellness.
The technique
Inhale through your nose for 4, hold for 4, exhale for 4, hold empty for 4 — and repeat for 3–5 minutes.
When to use it
Before a difficult meeting, during the mid-afternoon energy dip, before bed, or after intense exercise.
Why it works
It slows your breathing to ~6 breaths per minute, improves heart-rate variability, and shifts your nervous system into rest-and-digest mode.
